Windows Vista Hardware Assessment uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Simple Network Protocol (SNMP) or Remote Registry Service to look for the information.
The tool analyzes LAN PCs, and defines which of them can use Windows Vista, Office 2007, Windows Server 2008 or Microsoft Application Virtualization (SoftGrid). In case those programs cannot be installed in their respective systems, the program prepares records indicating which hardware applications are needed.
